Role At Dixon
Anita Fennessey is a faculty member and clinical instructor at Abington
Memorial Hospital Dixon School of Nursing. She teaches N202: Adult
Medical-Surgical Nursing II and N303: Advanced Concepts in Medical-Surgical
Nursing. She is a member of the Faculty Organization, Curriculum,
Student Grievance and Nutrition Committees. She is also Chair of
the Student Evaluation and Achievement Committee.

Currently enrolled in Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at Drexel
University
Professional Experience
Ms. Fennessey had experience in many areas of nursing prior to instructing
at Dixon. She has extensive critical care nursing experience. She
worked with both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients for
over ten years; she was also a renal nurse educator.
Professional Awards and
Recognition
She wrote an article entitled, "Medical-Surgical Nurses’ Utilization
of Research Methods and Products." This article was a collaboration
with other RN’s and was presented in MEDSURG Nursing (1994, Vol.3,
No. 2). She was also the AMH Gold Standard
Employee of the Month.
Personal Interests
Her personal interests include exercise and aerobics. She is a member
of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
Nursing Education As A
Career
Anita Fennessey chose nursing as a career because she enjoys taking
care of people and helping them improve their health. She chose to
be a nurse educator because she loves watching and helping students
grow from novice student nurses to professional registered nurses.
She enjoys all aspects of her role in helping students and watching
them develop their nursing skills.
